Prior to becoming a Financial Advisor at Raymond James, Jacob had a successful career as a public auditor. He spent nearly 3 years working for KPMG; one of the world's largest accounting firms, Jacob and decided to make a shift in careers motivated by a number of things. One of which, was his desire to interact with people more directly and to provide a professional service which was meaningful and would have a lasting impact on their lives. Part of Jacob's efforts to remain current with the changing financial landscape are the continuing educational requirements to maintain his designation as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (CFP®) and as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Jacob currently holds a number of industry specific registrations and certificates as an Accredited Asset Management Specialist and a Accredited Wealth Management Advisor.

Jacob graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Jacob then went on to complete his Masters of Public Accounting in 2010. Additionally, he completed his Certified Public Accountant certification in 2014. A firm believer in continuing education, Jacob enhances his experience by attending annual conferences and completing continuing education in the disciplines of accounting, investing and insurance.

Originally from Hickman, NE, Jacob currently resides in Ogallala, NE. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Meagan, who is the Registered Dietician at the local community hospital as well as the owner of From the Inside Out, a dietetic consulting company. Together they enjoy spending time with their daughter, Henley, who was born in September 2014. When he is not working with clients, Jacob enjoys spending time with his family, sports, reading and being outdoors.



Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, CFP® (with plaque design) and CFP® (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.

To become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional one must pass the comprehensive CFP® Certification Exam, have a minimum of three years’ professional experience in financial planning process and must be approved by the CFP Board, which involves an extensive background check – including an ethics, character and criminal check. To maintain certification, CFP® license holders must complete 30 hours of continuing education accepted by the CFP Board every two years.
